Forging

Forging, heat treatment and CNC machining for steel and stainless-steel parts.

Overview

We supply forged steel and stainless-steel parts such as shafts, hubs, clevises, yokes and other formed components. Forging is well suited to load-bearing components that need a formed metal blank, a specified material condition and accurately machined interfaces. Through independent partners, we coordinate electric screw-press forging, controlled-atmosphere heat treatment, and three- or four-axis machining. We review the part geometry, material and required interfaces before selecting the route. Related heading, rod-forming or thread-rolling options can be considered for suitable fastener or formed-part designs, connecting forging with other processes when the product requires a multi-step plan.

Supply options

Forged components

Steel and stainless-steel screw-press forgings.

Heat treatment

Controlled-atmosphere heat treatment for specified conditions.

CNC machining

Three- and four-axis CNC machining of required interfaces.

Related forming

Related heading, rod-forming and thread-rolling options.

Manufacturing route

A manufacturing route can combine forming, heat treatment and machining to meet the part design.

Screw-press forging

A press applies force to shape heated stock into a forging blank.

Heat treatment

A separate thermal step establishes a specified material condition; the cycle depends on the part and grade.

CNC machining

Three- and four-axis machining can finish bores, faces and interfaces after forming.

Materials

The forging alloy and condition should match the part’s load, environment and forming route.

Steel

A common forging family where strength, toughness and heat-treatment response are part of the design requirements.

Stainless steel

Corrosion-resisting grades can suit exposed service; selection depends on the environment and required properties.

Aluminum alloys

Lower density and strength-to-weight can support designs with tight mass targets.

AMES-FORGE-01 lists steel and stainless steel. Aluminum alloys are broader network options; grade and condition are matched to the part.
