Process related to Casting

Overview

We supply custom die-cast components such as housings, covers, heat-sink bodies, brackets and small equipment enclosures. Die casting uses a reusable metal die to form detailed shapes and is commonly selected for repeat production. Our network reviews the route around part geometry, alloy family, functional interfaces, expected volume and tooling requirements. Aluminum, zinc and magnesium are common die-casting alloy families; exact grade and process fit are selected for the project. We coordinate specified machining, surface finishing and inspection through independent partners.

Supply options

Typical parts

Housings, covers, heat-sink bodies, brackets and similar custom shapes.

Alloy families

Review aluminum, zinc and magnesium options; confirm exact grade and process fit per project.

Tooling and route

Consider die design and expected repeat volume early, then select an appropriate process route.

Follow-on operations

Coordinate machining of mating faces, bores and threads, plus finishing and specified inspection.

Die-casting methods

Chamber type and tooling are matched to the alloy, part geometry and project requirements.

High-pressure die casting

Molten alloy is injected under high pressure into a reusable metal die to form the component.

Hot-chamber process

The injection mechanism contacts the melt; this route is commonly used with zinc and other suitable lower-melting alloys.

Cold-chamber process

Molten metal is transferred from a separate furnace before injection; this route is common for aluminum die casting.

Vacuum-assisted die casting

Air is evacuated from the die cavity to help reduce trapped gas; suitability and partner availability are reviewed for the part.

Materials

Aluminum, zinc and magnesium are common die-casting alloy families; the right choice depends on the part and its service requirements.

Aluminum alloys

A common die-casting family for components where a balance of part weight and functional requirements matters.

Zinc alloys

A common family for detailed die-cast components; exact grade and process fit are selected for the application.

Magnesium alloys

A lightweight die-casting family considered when component mass is an important design factor.

Final alloy, grade, condition and suitable partner are confirmed against the drawing, application and project requirements.

Factories

We match independent manufacturing partners to the alloy, part size, tooling and expected volume, then coordinate specified machining, finishing and inspection for the project.
