Process related to Casting

Overview

We supply investment-cast steel components such as valve parts, impellers, detailed brackets and other designs with intricate contours or integrated features. This route can create a near-net metal shape before selected surfaces and interfaces are machined. We coordinate material and casting requirements with independent manufacturing partners, then plan specified machining, heat treatment, surface finishing or inspection around the part. Investment casting is a strong fit when the drawing calls for detailed molded geometry that would be difficult to create efficiently from simpler stock forms. For complex components, AMES can connect the casting step with other manufacturing processes in one coordinated production plan.

Supply options

Cast-steel parts

Investment-cast steel parts with detailed molded geometry.

Near-net geometry

Typical fit includes valve components, impellers and complex brackets.

Secondary work

Coordinate machining, heat treatment and surface finishing.

Route planning

Match alloy and secondary operations to the drawing.

Manufacturing route

The route moves from pattern and ceramic shell to pouring, cutoff and any specified finishing.

Wax pattern

A disposable pattern defines the part geometry and can be assembled with others on a sprue.

Ceramic shell

Slurry coating and refractory stucco layers build a ceramic shell around the pattern.

Dewaxing and pouring

The wax is removed, the shell becomes the mold, and molten metal fills the cavity.

Cut-off and finishing

Castings are separated from the sprue, cleaned and machined where the design requires it.

Materials

Investment casting works across several alloy families; choose the alloy for the part’s service conditions.

Cast steel

A ferrous option for detailed cast components where the part requirements call for steel.

Cast stainless steel

A corrosion-resistant family for service environments where grade selection supports the exposure conditions.

Nickel alloys

Selected alloy families can suit demanding temperature and corrosion conditions.

AMES-CAST-01 lists cast steel. Cast stainless steel and nickel alloys are broader network options; alloy and route are matched to the part.

Factories

Employee and output figures describe each independent partner profile overall.
